Setting the Direction: From High School to BIBA

Hello everyone, I am Kevin Chou, a senior in the Bachelor's Program of International Business Administration in English (BIBA) at Feng Chia University. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Financial Analysis at Temple University in the United States. Since graduating from high school, I set a goal to study abroad and hoped to develop my career overseas in the future. Therefore, I spent a lot of time preparing and planning, and eventually chose to enroll in the BIBA program at Feng Chia University. This program is taught entirely in English, allowing students to learn alongside peers from over 15 countries and participate in an exchange program abroad during their junior year. This international learning environment was exactly what I was looking for at the time.

I have always placed great importance on cultivating a global perspective and language skills, as language is the starting point for communicating with the world. In addition to English, I also hope to learn Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and French, so that I can be more flexible and confident in cross-cultural exchanges.

很感謝自己當初勇敢地踏出了第一步。

I am truly grateful to myself for having the courage to take the very first step.

Solid Learning: From BIBA to Temple University Master's Program

I am very grateful to Feng Chia University and BIBA for providing me with the opportunity to participate in the Dual Bachelor's Master's Degree Program (DBMD), which allowed me to pursue a master's degree in Financial Analysis at Temple University. This year of study has been both solid and challenging. The curriculum covers asset pricing, corporate valuation, behavioral finance, financial statement analysis, and machine learning, with an academic intensity far exceeding what I experienced in Taiwan. I had to devote myself fully to learning almost every day, even on days without classes.

Participation and Practice: Student Association and International Student Ambassador

In addition to academics, I am also actively involved in campus affairs. I am currently serving as the Vice President of the Temple University Taiwan Student Association, responsible for welcoming new students, planning cultural activities, and assisting with the communication and dissemination of information both on and off campus.

At the same time, I am honored to have been selected as a Global Program Student Ambassador for the International Student Affairs (ISA) at Temple University, mainly assisting Taiwanese students and representing 20 sister schools in various activities, including orientation for new students, cultural exchanges, leadership training, and more. As a student ambassador, I also participate in various promotional activities, information sessions, and intercollegiate collaborations, sharing my application experiences and study abroad insights during events to help more juniors understand the application process and real challenges.

In addition, I participated in the Philly Codefest Programming Competition, collaborating with other international students to develop a supply chain risk assessment system that uses news as input to evaluate risks for companies and their supply chains.

Although we did not win any awards in the end, the process of learning to collaborate, solve problems, and achieve concrete results in a multicultural environment was already deeply meaningful to me.

Looking Back and Forward: Thanks to My Courageous Self

I am especially grateful to the professors at Feng Chia University for laying a solid foundation for me during my studies, and to my family for their continuous support and trust.

Most importantly, I am thankful to myself for bravely taking the first step.

Next, I hope to pass the CFA Level 1 and JLPT N1 exams, and attend the Boston Career Forum to seek opportunities to work for Japanese multinational companies.
