由國立臺北科技大學電資學院與中華民國電腦學會共同主辦的「行動計算研討會(MC 2024)」暨「無線、隨意及感測網路研討會(WASN 2024)」於8月26日至27日在國立臺北科技大學集思北科大會議中心隆重舉行。來自逢甲大學資訊工程學系的黃唯筑與賴錡兩位同學,在陳烈武教授的指導下,以「Deep Learning Based Pedestrian Dead Reckoning for Seamless Centimeter-Level Indoor Positioning」在行動計算研討會中脫穎而出,榮獲最佳論文獎。同樣來自逢甲大學資訊工程學系的時昱安與蔡育岑同學,亦在陳烈武教授的指導下,以「Cooperative Fleet Lane Changing with Multi-Group Splitting and Merging Based on Vehicular Sensor Networks」在無線、隨意及感測網路研討會中力壓群雄,榮獲最佳論文獎,展現逢甲大學師生在核心技術與創新應用的深厚實力。

TAIA, jointly established by the National Center for High‑performance Computing (NCHC) under the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the ASUS Group, is a major national AI infrastructure project featuring the “Formosa Foundation Model,” built on extensive Traditional Chinese datasets.

This year’s competition reached a record scale, attracting 583 teams from 79 colleges and universities, with a total of 1,017 student participants. The winning work will represent Taiwan at the 2024 Greater China Mobile Application Innovation Contest in November, showcasing Taiwanese students’ outstanding capabilities in technological innovation.

In late February 2024, Chia‑Yu Lin from the Department of Environmental Engineering and Science, together with Yun‑Ching Pu, Wen‑Cheng Tsao, and Yan‑Hua Lu from the Department of Automatic Control Engineering, began their internships at the National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, CNR) in Rome, Italy. Their opportunities were made possible through the Ministry of Education’s Dream‑Building Study Abroad Program and Feng Chia University’s University Social Responsibility (USR) initiatives. Their internship will continue through the end of May.

During her tenure as Director of the Science Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston in 2021, Hui‑Kuang Yu, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs at Feng Chia University, collaborated with Prof. Junichiro Kono of Rice University to expand the original U.S.–Japan TOMODACHI STEM Program to include Taiwan. Through this partnership, five outstanding female university students from Taiwan are selected each year to join the MACHI STEM Program, forming the combined TOMODACHI‑MACHI STEM Program, aimed at cultivating future female leaders in science and engineering.

Students from the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science, Feng Chia University, achieved outstanding results at the 54th Central Regional Skills Competition held on March 29, winning a total of six awards. Those who placed in the top three also earned the qualification to compete in the national finals, which will take place in July at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, where they will represent Feng Chia University and take on greater challenges.
